- Situated in the heart of Ripon, is the Cathedral. It is open daily and admission entry is free, however, donations are welcome.
Founded by St. Wilfrid in the 7th century, Ripon Cathedral is one of the oldest religious sites in England. The crypt from this period still exists today and is a remarkable example of early Christian architecture. - At Christmas time, Ripon offers festive markets and decorations for a truly magical time. Look out for free or affordable parking areas such as the Market Place or St Marygate car park.
